Gwinnett County Tree Ordinance

 
 

Gwinnett County now requires that a specimen trees be surveyed prior to development and construction.  We strongly recommend that potential specimen trees be fully analyzed in conjunction with a survey team.

 



Specimen tree Definition:

  1. •Large Hardwoods 28” DBH

  2. •Large Softwoods 30” DBH

  3. •Small native flowering 12”

  4. •Life expectancy more than 10 yrs.

  5. •Meets minimum condition criteria


Plan Requirements:

  1. 1.Locations of Specimen Trees

  2. 2.Prepared by ISA Certified Arborist, Registered Landscape Architect, or Registered Forester

  3. 3.Submitted as separate sheet

  4. 4.On site meeting with County to review specimen trees
